I wanted to take a few minutes and give you an update. I know there has been a long time since the last update, but there really hasn't been anything to update, until now. We are still in the "paperwork stage" in the adoption process. There were a few times we really thought we were all done, but then there was something else that needed to be updated or hadn't been received in the office yet. The latest is that the company that does the background checks and fingerprinting is at least 6 months behind. So we have now been asked to visit a local office in downtown Atlanta, and have our background check and fingerprints done there with results back in 3 - 14 days. Now we just wait for an appointment where we both can go, during baseball season, which will be a challenge!
Other developing news, I had surgery last Friday 4/20 and they were checking for and treating me for endometriosis. They did find some, and were able to treat it while they were in there with a laser. Michael has most of the story, as I was pretty out of it when the doctor left the room, but she did think that what she found could possibly have been causing us difficulty in conceiving. I guess you can call that good news!
We will continue with the paperwork on the adoption, along with conceiving on our own, and we will see where that will take us. We are still on this journey ready for whatever comes our way.
