Wyman Update

Dr. Witter-Hewitt called this morning and left a message on my cell voice mail. It was around 7:30, we heard the phone ring, but missed the call. Her message was very unspecific but said she had the results back from the pathology report. And to call her at 9:00. Then I couldn't find her until almost 10. Cutting to the chase....she still doesn't know what it is, but it is NOT lymphoma...PRAISE GOD! It appears to be a bacterial infection carried possibly by a rabbit or mosquito. They will need to run more tests in the lab to know exactly how to treat it with anti-biotics. It could be a few days before other results come in...but we will wait!

Praise God AGAIN!!

Wyman Tests

I just heard back from the doctor. All Wyman's blood test results are in. No cat scratch fever. His white blood cell counts, anemia, platelets, type of blood cells and clotting factors are all within normal range. His sedrate is also normal which usually is an indicator of inflammation in the body. So she is still boggled of what is causing this. We may never know what it is actually….. But we won't know for sure until the biopsy is back. But this is all good news that it is pointing away from a lymphoma diagnosis! Praise GOD!

Wyman's Surgery

Wyman’s surgery took about an hour. He was SO brave!! And so was Mommy!! There isn’t any new news yet. Just that it was good that we got it out as quickly as we did because it was much more “ripe” than the doctor was expecting. As soon as we hear anything more I will do another post. We may hear back this afternoon about some of the blood work that wasn’t available this morning like we hoped. Oh, and his TB test was negative!

Here is a picture of the patient….bless his heart, he fell yesterday at camp and scraped his face all up. So those Band-Aids are not surgery related. Wish me luck on keeping that thing on his head for 2 more days!

Prayers for Wyman

Hello Everyone,

It has been SO long since I have posted a blog update. I have been too busy on facebook I guess (a lot of you are already up to speed so this will be repetitive)! We are going in for surgery tomorrow morning with Wyman. We noticed a lump on his cheek near his ear Memorial Day weekend. Needless to say it started out as a possible infected lymph node, then didn’t respond to anti-biotics, then after seeing a Ear Nose & Throat specialist she thought it was a cyst in his salivary gland. Then we had a cat scan which showed some decay inside his lymph nodes. So the surgery tomorrow will remove the main lump and biopsy another smaller involved area. The best case scenario is that there is something causing the inflammation which will be clearer after the biopsy. The worst case is that it is lymphoma and even with that news she feels it is very curable. His surgery is at 8 AM tomorrow morning….so I better get to bed.

Other than that we are doing great! I will post some pictures of our new puppy Hagler who found his way into our lives and hearts 2 days after we finalized the adoption on the kids. Michael’s baseball team won state again this year so we have been busy on the baseball field! We head up north in a couple of weeks for 3 weeks of R & R and I need it!

Here is Hagler!

Thanks in advance for all your prayers! I will send out another message when we get home tomorrow. It should take about a week for the pathology report to come back, but we may know something from the pre-op testing and blood counts as early as tomorrow.
